Seawall in Florida Repair?

I own waterfront property on a c in central Florida. My seawall is in need of repairs, I have several estiments but I need some information. What is better wood or vinyl? How much should I expect to pay for minor repairs? Anyone know any good contractors in the Cocoa Beach area? Has anyone had any repairs done and have any lessons learned from their experiance?
