I need a diesel fuel additive that works miracles! Please help?

Ok, i'm about to delete my EGR cooler (don't ask) out of my 2006 f250 diesel. Im pretty diesel savvy but I need to know the diesel mechanics tips and tricks on getting all that soot out of the intake manifold. Do i have to just soak it in brake cleaner when its off of the engine? Or is there an awesome fuel additive that will break all of that up as my engine runs? Im thinking about just buying a new manifold as it is. Damn EPA cant make up their mind whether to conserve fuel and oil or to put emission control, MPG robbing devices on vehicles that are fine as is. Sorry for the rant.
