Why doesn't my male atiel show male behavior...?

Hi: How are you? Your bird is still too young to be a ually mature bird. When I was in Jr. High School I got a white Parakeet. When he was about 3 years old he became ually mature. He became really aggressive ually. He would fly to my shoulder and then work his way down to my hand and then rub himself against my hand until he finished. He was not shy about his behavior. He would do this same thing to everyone who came in the room. He seemed to especially like my mother and my girlfriend at the time. He was a great bird. We were not bird people and we had never see this type of behavior. He lived to be 12 years old and he stayed ually active the whole time. We never put a female in with him because we didn't want any more birds at the time. He just did his thing. Your bird will grow up soon enough. Good Luck. Mike Beach
