Have you actually been taken to court or had your wages garnished?

By Sallie Mae? These people are SO AWFUL! This is my fiances default loans that i am trying to take care of. There are 3 separate loans. Well, it was actually one that they split up. WHY? i don't know. Anyway. 2 we are going to be able to take care of. One of the loans though, they are threatening that if we do not settle with them for $3100 or $1015 with monthly payments of over $300 for the next several years, they are suing. We could do the $1000 with payments and go broke in the process. There is no way we can come up with $3000! and he said they will not accept payments anymore. Those are our options, otherwise we are going to court. That is what he said. i am scared to death. and don't know what to do. I don't understand why they won't work with us!? Wouldn't it cost them more to take us to court rather than just accept payments? Anyone in my situation? Or have suggestions for us?
